My Birthday Gift to the Genius of the Skies Io Shirai.

So when I heard that this girl was going to be leaving WWR STARDOM to WWE I was so happy yet so very sad…Sad Faced Rookie. Because if there is anyone in the world that deserves the big stage it’s IO, She was fucking built for it. This girl has the face and the talent to leave a legacy that will not only inspire people to work hard for what they want, but the legacy that she can build for herself there will be one that will change the landscape of Women’s wrestling.

Now, I’m sad face because I can’t bring myself to watch WWE, but I would watch this girl debut and I would smile, clap and say “Congrats you deserve this. Good Luck Pretty Girl.” and that would be it.

The reason I love to watch IO SHIRAI so much is because WRESTLING in any form, from real to performance is ART.

IO to me is like Yayoi Kusama, Berthe Morisot, Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, Mary Cassatt, Artemisia Gentileschi, Georgia O’Keeffe and her legacy should be on par with Vincent van Gogh.

So I’m not enough of a wrestling fan to keep track of gossip, but when I heard that WWE were taking Io and Kairi away from STARDOM I wanted to say thank you, for all the years IO was with me on the road and Inspiring me to go out and leave it all on the stage. So for Her birthday I made her this, a thank you in my art for all the years of Her’s.
Thank you, IO. I sent a printed copy of this to you…I hope you got it. Happy birthday Pretty Girl 🙂 Good Luck.

Only Two Copies Printed!!

I had a great time doing this. The story is kinda basic but it gets the job done. I’m not trying to win a Eisner Award lol…and lets be honest what does an Eisner award mean these days anyway. With some of the nominations these days I wonder why anyone would take it seriously anymore.
